『ウイイレ アーケード 2008』では、イタリア、フランス、スペインなど、欧州5大リーグをはじめとするヨーロッパの強豪サッカークラブ・126チームが収録され、収録チームの合計は180チーム以上となる。そして本作ではタッチパネルを使用したリアルタイムチャット機能により、オンラインの対戦相手との直感的なコミュニケーションが行える。
もちろん、前シリーズの『ウイイレ アーケード 2006』からのデータ引継ぎが可能となり、「称号」「大会入賞カップ」「大会参加メダル」「移籍交渉LV」など、多くの主要データがそのまま使用できる。また本作では、PS2用コントローラを使用したプレイが行えるため、家庭用の『ウイイレ』シリーズと同様の操作感でプレイが楽しめる。
本作では、4月28日（月）より初の全国公式オンライン大会の開催も予定されている。大会はクラブチームを用いたものとなるので、今から大会に備えておこう。
