AppleはiPhone/iPod touch向けのダウンロードサイトApp Storeでの、人気ゲームをまとめた「Best of 2009」リストを発表しました。リストはトップセラー(販売数)とレビュー(評価)の2種類です。
販売数では目立ったのはEAやゲームロフトなど、これまで家庭用ゲーム機や携帯電話向けに実績を残してきた大手メーカーが大きな地位を占めている点です。iPhoneはSDKが個人ユーザーにも広く公開され、多くの小規模デベロッパーが参入してきましたが、10万本という種類の中で結果を出すのはビッグネームのようです。
また、iPhoneの特性を生かした新作というよりは、既に家庭用ゲーム機で人気シリーズとなっている『The Sims』『Need for Speed』『Madden NFL』『Assassin's Creed』『Civilization Revolution』などをiPhone向けにアレンジした作品というのが販売数を伸ばしているようです。
国内メーカーでは唯一タイトーの『Cooking Mama』(クッキングママ、ニンテンドーDSなどでも発売中)がランクインしています。
