エレクトロニック・アーツは、3月19日にWii向け『MONOPOLY』(モノポリー)を発売します。言わずと知れたハスブローの人気ボードゲームで、その中でも最新作である「MONOPOLY Here & Now: The World Edition」を元に制作したものです。ボードゲームのアナログの遊びもいいですが、ビデオゲームで盛り上がるのも一興ではないでしょうか。


モノポリーは、サイコロを振り、自分のキャラクターを進めながら、止まったマスの不動産を購入したり、取り引きをすることで資産を増やしていき、最終的に他のプレイヤーを破産させることが目的です。Wii版でも最大4人でワイワイと盛り上がることができます。また、ジャングル、雪や氷、デザートなど今までに無いタイプのボードが収録されています。

「Richest Mode」はビデオゲームならではのモードで、“Get out of Jail”で刑務所から脱出したり、“Take a Ride on the Reading” で他のプレイヤーと各停車駅に正確に停まれるかを12個のミニゲームで競うといった、30分以内で手軽に楽しめるモノポリーも収録されています。
