KONAMIは、プレイステーション3/Xbox 360向けソフト『ワールドサッカー ウイニングイレブン 2009』（以下、『ウイイレ 2009』）に関して、PS3同梱パック「ウイニングイレブン×UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE アニバーサリーBOX」を2008年11月27日（木）に発売すると発表した。
『ウイイレ 2009』は、人気サッカーゲーム『ウイニングイレブン』シリーズの最新作。本作では、欧州クラブチームの頂点を決める「UEFA チャンピオンズリーグ」モードや、ひとりの選手だけを操作する「ビカム・ア・レジェンド」と「レジェンズ」の新モードが用意されている。
特に、「UEFA チャンピオンズリーグ」モードが登場するのは、日本国内のサッカーゲームとしては初めてのことだ。それを記念して、PS3版とPS3本体との同梱パックが発売されることとなった。
なお、「ウイニングイレブン×UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE アニバーサリーBOX」に同梱されるのは、HDD容量が80ギガバイトになった「新型」PS3となる。さらに、振動機能対応の「デュアルショック3」を2つ付属。それに加えて、『ウイニングイレブン2009』特製ステッカーも同梱される。
