エレクトロニック・アーツは人気のレースゲームシリーズ「ニード・フォー・スピード」の最新作である『ニード・フォー・スピード プロストリート』(NFSPS)の日本語版を今冬に発売することを発表しました。プラットフォームはWii、プレイステーション3、Xbox360、プレイステーション2、PSP、PCとなります。
「今作は、ストリートレースの最高峰を極めるまでのステージを通して、本物のストリートレースカルチャーを体感できます。世界中で繰り広げられる激戦を勝ち抜きながらプレイヤーは自身の駆るマシンをチューニングして行くだけでなく、プレイヤー自身のドライビングスキルや評判を磨いて行くことも面白さの一つです」とエグゼクティブ・プロデューサーであるラヒー・ラピエール氏は述べています。
NFSPSでは実写と見紛う程のグラフィックを実現。マシンの形状を自由自在に変形することのできるオートスカルプ・テクノロジーも進化。シリーズで初めて、変形させた形状がマシン性能に影響を与えます。レースを重ねるにつれて車体に残る傷やへこみも車体に勲章として刻まれていきます。AIやオンラインプレイも強化されています。
